Kingsley Special Academy building reviewed
3rd February 2017
Kingsley Special Academy’s 16 section double storey new manufactured modular building is now completed, apart from internal and external handrail fitment. As we explained in previous blogs, this building has bespoke high level windows and other particular features to suit this special educational use.
The building has been constructed to very specific Special Academy requirements, and brick slip cladding was specified. We are not often asked for this exterior finish, but it really works, and prevents the necessarily small high level windows from looking insignificant within a large wall area.
The school’s headteacher, business manager and staff are very pleased with the outcome. Carol Robinson, Special School Business Manager, explains:
“Kingsley is growing fast, and we needed to invest in new facilities to cater for the increasing number of pupils. We’re delighted with our new modular building – it’s a high quality, specialist learning environment that caters for a wide range of needs.
“When looking for a supplier, we wanted a company with a proven track record in creating specialist education buildings that could provide a full, end-to-end service. Portable Building Sales delivered on all counts, managing everything on our behalf whilst providing a responsive service, well-thought out design and value for money package.”
