Requirement
Downend & Bromley Heath Parish Council sought to replace the outdated sports pavilion at the King George V Playing Fields with a modern facility to better serve the community. The new pavilion needed to provide a dedicated space for players to meet, change and prepare for games while supporting various sports and outdoor activities.
Following an initial enquiry via the Portable Building Sales website, the team quickly engaged with the Parish Council, demonstrating a clear understanding of their needs and project requirements. After careful consideration, the Council selected Portable Building Sales due to the advantages of modular construction—offering a faster, more efficient build with minimal site disruption compared to traditional construction methods.

Solution
Portable Building Sales delivered a 15-bay modular sports pavilion designed to accommodate the needs of both players and visitors. The facility includes four changing rooms, a meeting room, offices, a function room and toilets as well as security and safety features such as an access control system, fire alarm, CCTV and intruder alarm.
Externally, the pavilion includes a boxed-out feature fascia for aesthetics, solar panels, security shutters and a combination of plastic-coated steel and timber cladding to ensure durability and sustainability.
In addition to supplying the modular building, Portable Building Sales provided a full turnkey service, including the demolition of the old facility. EvaBuild acted as the groundwork contractor for the project, delivering groundworks and landscaping. The project also included paved areas, fencing, gates, a cycle shelter and planting to enhance the surroundings.
